Ideas for decorating with plants
Four decor styles and which catalog plants to use in each one.
First choose based on the light and humidity of the spot, and think about the vibe you're after. Then the style. These combinations come from our design guide:
Japandi and mid-century
Large plants in neutral ceramic planters on raised wooden stands. They bring structure and calm. Indoors with indirect light.
Urban jungle and boho chic
Trailing textures and fuchsia and purple tones on macramé hangers at different heights. Indoors with medium to high humidity.
Desert and minimalist
Cacti and succulents in terracotta or fired clay pots, in sunny windows, balconies or terraces.
Tropical patio and entrances
Lipstick palm or red ginger on either side of the main entrance, for instant color contrast. Outdoors with frequent watering.
